Scott W. O’Sullivan is the founder of The O’Sullivan Law Firm, a seasoned team of Denver-based personal injury lawyers. Scott has previously worked as an insurance company lawyer who defended individuals and corporations on a wide range of claims. Eventually, fed up with working for big insurance companies who squeezed injured people out of the money they deserved, Scott made the decision to represent only injury victims and he has never looked back.
Since 1996, Scott has helped victims fight for their rights. He represents seriously injured people in the State of Colorado and nationally from his office in Denver and from a satellite office in Frisco. His primary areas of practice involve automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, Vibrio vulnificus injuries, and injuries caused by drunk drivers. As a plaintiffs’ lawyer, Scott’s practice includes class action, multi-district, and other complex litigation.
Scott is a nationally recognized personal injury lawyer and is currently a faculty member of Solo Practice University (SPU) where he teaches other soon-to-be personal injury lawyers how to protect and fight for their clients. SPU is the #1 online educational and professional community for attorneys and law students.
Scott’s primary trial lawyer experience is in Colorado and Denver courts, but he is also licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey.
Before becoming an attorney, Eli worked in the motorcycle industry, which began when he attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix Arizona. Upon graduation he was hired by a BMW dealership, where he became a certified mechanic, transitioned to service advisor, and eventually was promoted to manager of the service department. Eli is still passionate about motorcycles and has been riding them for over 30 years; he has ridden and raced in nine countries on three continents and remains involved in the sport. If you ride, you may see him on the back roads near his home in Conifer, on the trails at Rampart Range, or on the track at Berthoud, Thunder Valley, or any of the other wonderful riding opportunities Colorado has to offer.
It was actually a motorcycle accident that brought Eli to the practice of law. He was injured due to another person’s negligence and he found out that insurance companies will not take you seriously unless you are represented by an attorney. He hired an attorney who negotiated a good settlement of his claim. This was his first exposure to the legal system and he realized that practicing law would be something he would enjoy and could be good at, and, with his personal injury claim settled, he had the means to go to law school. At that point, he made the difficult decision to change careers; he quit his job, went back to school, and got his law degree.
Eli moved to Colorado after graduating from law school and has been practicing personal injury law here ever since. His background as a motorcycle rider and as a personal injury plaintiff gives him a unique insight into this area of law and how it affects people. As a motorcycle rider, he is no stranger to injuries and he understands how painful and debilitating they can be. As a former plaintiff, he understands how confusing and frustrating the legal system can be to those who are not familiar with it. This background allows him to appreciate what his clients are experiencing and understand how it affects them, as well as convincingly describe his client’s pain and suffering to others.
Cara New is an associate attorney at The O’Sullivan Law Firm. Her practice is limited to personal injury cases.
Cara initially discovered her passion for representing personal injury victims as an associate at a high-volume personal injury law firm. She almost exclusively represented people who had been injured in motor vehicle collisions and, occasionally, general negligence matters. During this time, she was responsible for a large case load and successfully negotiated over 400 settlements. She also discovered her interest in litigation, especially insurance litigation. Cara brought numerous lawsuits against some of the largest insurance companies in the country, resulting in many six-figure and even seven-figure recoveries for her clients. Through representing countless clients in depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials she discovered the importance of effectively conveying each client’s story.
After several years, it became clear to her that the volume of cases did not allow the level of client engagement she felt was necessary to be the most effective advocate possible for her clients. Thereafter, she joined The O’Sullivan Law Firm where she is committed to keeping clients at the center of her practice.
Cara obtained her law degree from the University of Colorado. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Colorado.
About Denver Legal Line
Denver Legal Line only represents people with legitimate and serious injuries in the state of Colorado. We carefully and diligently investigate every case to document the injuries and damages sustained by our clients and to ensure that each case we handle has merit. Our investigations take us to the scene of an accident where we search for witnesses and further insights into the event. This helps to maintain our excellent reputation in the legal and insurance communities and allows us to negotiate settlements that fairly compensate our clients for all of their damages.
In fact, our excellent reputation among other lawyers and within the insurance industry enables us to settle most cases out-of-court. Unfortunately, not all insurance companies are reasonable. Some insurance companies go to great lengths to avoid paying anything, even if fault is clear, which forces the injured party to go to trial to recover any compensation. Denver Legal Line has the resources, staff and trial experience to provide effective representation for you. While we do everything possible to settle our clients’ cases out-of-court for a fair amount, the insurance companies know that we will aggressively pursue each client’s case to the full extent of the law.
